To play Bingo, there is a card that has 24 numbered spaces and a free space that is blank. The numbers are random on the card. There are 5 rows and 5 columns of numbers, this includes the free space. The 5 columns are labeled B, I, N, G, and O, spelling Bingo.
Column B will have numbers between 1 and 15, I will be 16 through 30, N will have the free spot and numbers 31 through 45, G will consist of numbers 46 through 60 and O will contain numbers 61 through 75. Each card is completely different from the other cards and has different numbers. Again, the numbers are randomly chosen to be on the cards and there is no numerical order to them in each row.
Each player receives a card and has a stamp pen to mark the numbers off with. There will be a caller that calls out a letter and number combination to the players. For example, the call out will be called as I-20 or N-42 and so on. When a player hears a number called that is on their card, they mark it with the stamp pen.
Many times players will play with multiple cards and check all cards when the call out is made to see if there is any to mark off. The letter and number combinations are kept track of on a board or by lining up the balls that have the letters and numbers on them.
The numbers are called continually, until B-I-N-G-O is called by a player. B-I-N-G-O is when a row, column or vertical line is created with the called numbers. There can be more than one winner also. If the players are playing for the cash and there are multiple winners, they will split the prize. If one player wins, they receive the entire prize. The numbers are checked against the called numbers to make sure that a BINGO has been created.
